Issa López

Issa López is an accomplished Mexican producer, writer, and film director. Her 2017 film "Tigers are Not Afraid" garnered critical acclaim, and she was honored with Screamfest's Best Picture and Best Director awards. Currently, López is collaborating with renowned industry figures such as Guillermo del Toro, Noah Hawley, and Jason Blum, as she develops new projects.

In her latest role, López serves as the showrunner of HBO Original's "True Detective: Night Country." The teaser trailer presents a captivating tale of impulsive detectives entangled in a spine-chilling mystery, with a visual nod to the iconic spiral from the first season of "True Detective." López also writes and directs all episodes of the series, showcasing her exceptional talent and versatility. Notably, although the creator of "True Detective," Nic Pizzolatto, is not involved this time, he is credited as an executive producer.
